The National Council of Resistance of Iran will hold its annual “Free Iran Global Summit” on 17 July. Numerous religious and political leaders, dignitaries, and human rights organizations from both sides of the Atlantic have been expressing their solidarity with the NCRI and MEK virtual conference.

On July 14, a bipartisan group of renowned American politicians declared their support for the “Free Iran Global Summit,” in a joint statement. “There is a beacon of hope in this dark landscape. The one organization that has done more than any other entity, including governments, to free Iranian citizens from tyranny and the world from fundamentalist-inspired terrorism is the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). The NCRI strives relentlessly to ensure that hope for democracy and an end to injustice remains alive in,” read the statement.

While pointing to the pivotal role of the NCRI and the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) and their 4-decade-long struggle, the statement by more than 30 American prominent figures added: “The NCRI and its affiliate organization, the MEK, have endured unspeakable horrors from the Iranian regime. The NCRI and MEK have kept very thorough documentation of the atrocities committed against themselves and the Iranian people. MEK’s Ashraf 3 museum in Albania has compiled a remarkable display and repository of evidence, staffed by victims bearing personal witness to the depraved modalities of regime torture. The MEK’s documentation is securely backed up in other countries.”

In another development, some 38 of the most prominent religious leaders of Britain in a joint statement expressed their support for the Iranian Resistance and the ten-point plan of NCRI President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi for a free and democratic future Iran.

“We also support the 10‐point democratic platform for future Iran, presented by President‐elect of the Iranian Resistance movement, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, which stipulates that “Any form of discrimination against the followers of any religion and denomination will be prohibited” and commits to “the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Charter and other international covenant and conventions,” read the statement.

In addition, a group of human rights organizations, parliamentary committees and associations supporting the Iranian Resistance movement from various countries in Europe and United States, in both separate and joint statements expressed their total support for the Iranian people’s struggle for a free Iran and their organized resistance movement, particularly the MEK’s “Resistance Units” inside Iran.

“We, the sponsors of this great online summit, together with thousands of parliamentarians and other personalities, support the 10-point plan of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, to establish a democratic and free republic, advocating the separation of religion and state, pluralism, free elections, and a market economy,” read their joint statement.

The British Committee for Iran Freedom, in a statement signed by over 120 MPs from the United Kingdom, underlined its ongoing support for the Iranian Resistance movement, particularly the Iranian people’s desire for regime change. “We support the popular protests in Iran against corruption and suppression, and we support the 10-point plan for a future free Iran as outlined by Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).”

In addition to the rising international support for the Iranian Resistance’s conference on July 17, many MEK Resistance Units and defiant youth sent messages of solidarity and support to this conference and posted banners in support of Mrs. Rajavi’s ten-point plan.

The NCRI’s “Free Iran Global Summit” reflects the fact that there is a viable and democratic alternative, capable of overthrowing the regime. The summit echoes that voice and reflects the desire of the Iranian people for regime change. Following the nationwide Iran protests in November with over 1500 martyrs, while the Iranian regime’s terrorism and warmongering policies threaten the peace and security of the world, and as the COVID-19 death toll in Iran rapidly rises due to the regime’s inaction and cover-up, it is necessary to be the Iranian people’s voice and stand with them and their organized resistance movement, particularly the MEK’s Resistance Units.
