Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 325 Cities Is More Than 49,500

Despite the 10-day closure of offices and guilds in Ahvaz, five other hospitals forced to accept Coronavirus patients. Ahvaz Fire Department reports that 52 firefighters have contracted Coronavirus

The regime’s Health Ministry announced that the provinces of Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Kerman, Kermanshah, Bushehr, and East and West Azerbaijan have alarming status.
The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Friday, June 5, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 325 cities across Iran had passed 49,500. The number of victims in Khuzestan is 3,860, Qom 3,585, Sistan and Baluchestan 1,635, Lorestan 1,650, East Azerbaijan 1,640, West Azerbaijan 1,360, Bushehr 450.

The spokesman for the Health Ministry said today, “The situation in Khuzestan is still red … The provinces of Hormozgan, Kurdistan, Kerman, Kermanshah, and Bushehr, as well as East and West Azerbaijan, are on alert.”

“Calamity will strike us at the last minute. Coronavirus is not over. It may surprise us again at any moment,” Rouhani’s Health Minister told the State TV yesterday.

The Qods force news agency, Tasnim, wrote, “These days, we are witnessing the second outbreak of Coronavirus in 10 provinces around the country. Khuzestan, East Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchestan, Gilan, Lorestan, Kurdistan, Bushehr, Mazandaran, and Hamedan have witnessed a growing trend of infection and patients in hospitals in recent days.”

In Khuzestan Province, the spokesperson for Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences was quoted by Aftab news yesterday as saying that the number of new infections in the past 24 hours was 792, the highest in recent weeks. Head of the public relations office of the University of Medical Sciences in Abadan said all sections of Ayatollah Taleghani Hospital had been allocated to Coronavirus patients. Ahvaz Fire Department reported the infection of 52 firefighters, according to IRGC mouthpiece, Javan, today. State-run Rouydad-24 wrote yesterday, “Ahvaz Hospital capacity designated for Coronavirus patients is full. Medical Sciences University hospital in Ahvaz was forced to accept patients in five new hospitals in the city. Khuzestan has the third-highest slum population. These people have no choice other than escaping from being quarantine to try to make ends meet any way possible. One-fourth of those newly infected daily in the country in the past two weeks are from the Province. Despite a 10-day lockdown of all offices and high-risk businesses, this trend is still on the rise.

In Fars Province, vice-president of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences told Javan yesterday, “In the past 24 hours, we have faced a dramatic and unprecedented rise [in infections] …. The number of those infected in the Province has reached 6,397.” Dr. Hadi Mottalebi, an infectious diseases specialist in Shiraz, was quoted by IRNA yesterday as saying, “This week, the number of those infected daily has seen a three-digit upward trend. We only had these many hospitalizations in one period, at the peak of the Coronavirus outbreak in the country during the Nowruz holidays. We can confidently say that alarm bells are sounding. The situation awaiting us is a bad one.”

According to the state TV network, the head of the public relations office of the University of Medical Sciences in Kermanshah, said yesterday, “By identifying 235 new patients with Coronavirus as of last night, the number of patients in Kermanshah Province reached 5,752.”

In Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Health Vice-president of Iranshahr University of Medical Sciences told the state-run daily, Hamshahri, yesterday, “As of this morning, the number of definite patients with Covid-19 in the region of Iranshahr University of Medical Sciences has increased to 634. Six citizens of Dalgan, died last night, who tested positive for Coronavirus.”

Yesterday, Javan daily, quoted the vice-president of the University of Medical Sciences in Hormozgan as saying, “With another 206 cases of Coronavirus disease, the number of patients in the Province has increased to 4,686. In the last two weeks, a very critical and fragile situation has emerged such that if the (protocols) and restrictions in place are not seriously observed, we will face a great challenge next week.”

The same daily quoted the President of the University of Medical Sciences in West Azerbaijan, today, as saying, “In the past month, the number of Coronavirus patients in Mahabad has been rising steeply and alarmingly.”

In Bushehr, the president of the University of Medical Sciences told the Tasnim news agency, “The prevalence of the virus and infection with the Coronavirus in Bushehr Province is on the rise. Bushehr Province is in a state of serious warning.”
